"For God So Loved...He Gave"   >>

But in the fulness of time…God sent forth his son, made of a woman, made under the law, to redeem them... that we might receive the adoption of sons." Gal. 4:4-5

Will you go with me on an exciting and fascinating trip?

Imagine, if you will, God's Word — the Holy Bible — as being an infinitely large and incredibly beautiful Christmas package. It is wrapped in love and tied with a scarlet cord that reaches all the way back to the book of Genesis. Inside are many other packages and compartments, each one filled with priceless treasures! Like a wide-eyed child on Christmas morning, we gaze in wonder and delight at these treasures too glorious for human description. We begin our journey by grasping that scarlet cord which binds us to the Gift of God. We open His Word and as we do, wonder of wonders, the Word becomes Jesus! Every book of this Holy Word contains a special gift — each one fitting together in such divine symmetry and precision that we stand in wonder and awe! We must hurry now. We will come back later to observe and admire in closer detail the wondrous Gift of God. Indeed, we cannot even open all the packages here, but like an eager child we reach out for the largest and brightest boxes! The first one is marked "Genesis."

In Genesis, God's gift is a glorious promise. Satan had entered God's garden — His perfect creation, Adam and Eve, had sinned. All seemed lost — for with sin, death entered and eternal separation from our heavenly Father. But, God gave the promise: "The ‘seed of the woman' shall bruise the serpent's head" (Genesis 3:15). Jesus was that "seed of the woman" who dealt a fatal blow to the serpent's head on Calvary as He fulfilled the promise of God to fallen humanity. Praise God for His unspeakable Gift! All is not lost! We are reconciled to God by the Seed of the woman.

Join us this holiday season as we celebrate Jesus—the real Reason for the season—with beautiful Christmas programs and specials. For more information, please see your local listings or go to www.tbn.org.

Ah, but, there are more packages — large and small. Each contains another glimpse, another truth, another facet of the whole. How do we choose? One, however, catches our eye. It is tall and unusually bright
and is marked "Isaiah 7:14":

"Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel."

Praise God: the Seed is to be a Son — THE SON OF GOD! The picture becomes clearer and brighter. But how? When? We cannot linger. We must move on.

The prophet Micah picks up the thread. This package also stands out from the others. As we open it, another truth unfolds.

"But, thou Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel." Micah 5:2

The Seed — the Son — is to be the ruler of God's people. The mysterious, glorious plan of God continues to unfold.

Now, the pace quickens. The night is cold. The world is dark — the darkest it has ever been. Surely God has forgotten, even abandoned His plan. His people are crushed — ruled by a totalitarian usurper from Rome. "Oh, God! Where are you? Where is the promise of your deliverance?" The despair, the blackness is unbearable!

Suddenly, the largest, most breathtaking package of all catches our sight! How could we have missed it? Little shepherd boys saw it first. How can it be? Oh — a whole angel choir! The heavens are filled with this Gift — the Light is more than the eye can contain! The song is glorious beyond human comprehension. Can it be true?

"And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord." Luke 2:10, 11

Oh, praise the Lord! The Seed, the Son, the Ruler is now the SAVIOR! We linger for just a moment beside the manger and gaze with rapture at the Babe — God's answer to the cry of His suffering creation. We move swiftly to a hill called Calvary where our salvation was completed. We weep with the host of heaven. "God so loved…that He gave."

But, God's gifts are inexhaustible. We move with joy and rapture to the empty tomb. We run with Mary to tell the other disciples. We touch Him and hear His words: "Go into all the world and preach my Gospel!" We stand with wonder and awe as He is glorious beyond description.

"And I saw heaven open, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True…and he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God…. And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS!" Revelation 19: 11, 13, 16

Praise the Lord, Partners — the best is yet to come! Jesus, the Seed of the woman, the Son of God, the Ruler of Israel, the Babe of Bethlehem is COMING again! Coming to reign over all the earth as our King of kings and Lord of lords!

This Christmas, let's all give the Word of God to anyone who will receive the living Word and the written Word. Jan and I would encourage you to secure some Holy Bibles, wrap them in bright colored paper and ribbon, and give them to your neighbors round about you. Mail Bibles to unsaved loved ones far and near. God has promised that His Word will not return void! Praise the Lord — His Word shall go forth!

May God bless you, our beloved family in the Lord. Jan and I pray that this will be the most blessed Christmas season ever for you and yours. We love you with Jesus' love and pray for you daily, now 36 Christmases!

So, from all of us at TBN: Merry, Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and —

"Let everything that hath breath — PRAISE THE LORD!"

Merry Christmas from Paul, Jan and your TBN family around the world!

Special guest, renowned evangelist Benny Hinn spoke with Paul and Matt about the move of God around the world.
